  17. <p>     He is one of the swiftest men in baseball, the National
  18. League's leading base stealer, but last week Otis Nixon
  19. stumbled. The Atlanta Braves' catalytic lead-off hitter tested
  20. positive for cocaine use and was suspended for 60 days and all
  21. post-season play. It was a shocking setback for Nixon, who had
  22. passed more than 200 drug tests since a 1987 drug arrest, and
  23. also for the Braves, at battling for first place after finishing
  24. last a season ago. Poetically, Nixon's replacement in the lineup
  25. is Lonnie Smith, a former cocaine user.
